D. Jacqueline Kent worked for the Ada Schools
D. Jacqueline Kent, age 85, of Ada, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 10:27 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on June 23, 1937, in Middlesboro, KY to the late Royce and Edna (Mason) Sampson. On August 7, 1955 Jackie married Darrell E. Kent and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2012.
Jackie is survived by her two sons and daughter: Lonny Kent, of Bluffton, Bill Kent, of Ada and Deb (Dave) Lybarger, of Delta; seven grandchildren, Bryan Kent, Casandra (Joe) Bennett, Candice Vang, Angie Lybarger, Jennifer (Rick) Fejes, Chris (Stephanie) Lybarger and Branden (Hannah) Kent; nine great grandchildren; a brother: Bill (Joyce) Sampson; and a sister: Betty Howell.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Bryan Kent; a great grandson, Bradley Wentz; and a sister, Phyllis Shupperd.
Jackie retired from Ada Exempted Village Schools, where she was the school secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada. Jackie was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health system. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for the Ada Fire Department.
Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Ada, 350 W. North Avenue, Ada, Ohio with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook page.
Visitation be held one hour prior at the church from 10:00 -11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Music Boosters and/or the Lima Memorial Auxiliary.
