Pirate girls tennis beats Rams

The Bluffton High School girls tennis team stayed hot with a 3-2 win over visiting Upper Sandusky Thursday evening,  September 21.

The Pirate netters improved to 6-6 with their third straight victory in four days this week.

Bluffton senior Brooke Camper dominated junior Alandra Diaz 6-1, 6-0 at first singles.  

Pirate junior Brooklyn Moser rallied to grind out a three-set win at third singles over senior Nora Estes. Moser lost the opening set but prevailed 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The Bluffton tandem of senior Leah Klinger and sophomore Hannah Nieman triumphed 7-5, 7-5 at first doubles.

The second doubles team of juniors Genevieve Gatchel and Ava McCamery  lost a tight match in a third-set tiebreaker 2-6, 6-3, 13-11.

Junior Rory Youngpeter won the first set, but also lost a close three-set battle at second singles by a 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 score.

Bluffton visits Defiance Monday, September 25.
