Pirate volleyball eliminated by O-G

The Bluffton High School volleyball team was upset in four sets by visiting Ottawa-Glandorf in Div. III sectional semifinal action Monday night, October 16.

The number five seed Pirates won the first set 25-22, but then dropped the next three to the Titan girls 25-20, 25-14, 25-22. Watch the match on Volleyball BHS-Youtube HERE.

Bluffton’s season ends with a record of 18-5 after the home defeat. It was only their third loss in the last 19 matches, and snapped a five-match win streak.

Sixth seed Ottawa-Glandorf improved to 11-12 with the tournament win. The Titans advance to visit fourth seed Parkway (12-10) Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7:15 p.m. in round two of the tournament.

Junior Ayla Grandey smacked 16 kills and served up four aces to pace the Pirate offense.

Freshman Karlie Lora knocked down seven kills and me up with three blocks.

Kendall Stackhouse added six kills.

Setter Gracie Yarnell passed out 30 assists and came up with 15 digs. 

Libero Avery Talavinia mustered a team-high 18 digs. 

Vanessa Cross hustled up 10 digs.
