UPDATED on February 1.

On 1-30-2024 at approximately 11:39 a.m. the Allen County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a Columbus area car dealership regarding a 2016 Dodge Challenger that was stolen overnight from one of their lots. The vehicle in question was outfitted with tracking devices that showed it at the property of 525 S. Kemp Rd. Elida, Ohio 45806.

The American Township Police Department was dispatched to the residence to check for the vehicle. Upon arrival the officer observed the vehicle in plain sight in the garage to the residence. A search warrant was obtained on the property due to this information and was executed by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the American Township Police Department.

While executing the search warrant Detectives and Officers found multiple presumed stolen motor vehicles of different types and presumed stolen vehicle parts. Due to the number of motor vehicles and questionable parts requiring further investigation the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau requested the assistance of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Officers have remained at the residence over the past two days securing evidence.

The sole resident, Wyatt Cole Morrison (D.O.B. 9-21-2001), originally from the state of New York, was taken into custody on a single felony count of Receiving Stolen Property and transported to the Allen County Jail.

Wyatt is being released from custody later today (February 1) and this case is expected to be presented to an Allen County Grand Jury upon conclusion of this investigation.
