Mary Elaine Augsburger worked for the Social Security Administration
Mary Elaine Augsburger, 75, passed away March 1, 2024, due to complications from dementia at the Meadows of Ottawa where she has been a resident for the past year.
Mary was born May 12, 1948 in Bluffton, to Ralph and Erma (Badertscher) Augsburger who preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her brother, Tom Augsburger of Pandora; niece, Susan (Marvin) Maag; and great nephews and niece, Jacob, Paul, and Sarah Maag, all of Leipsic.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Augsburger.
Mary graduated from Bluffton High School in 1966. After high school, Mary started work at the Social Security Office in Lima, which she retired from in 1995 after over 27 years of dedication. In her retirement, Mary volunteered at Lima Memorial Hospital and worked part time at Hobby Lobby and Hallmark stores in Lima. Mary enjoyed antique shopping and loved adding to her collection of tea cups and saucers; especially if they had purple violets on them. She also enjoyed her beloved cocker spaniel dogs that she had as companions over the years.
The family would like to thank the Meadows of Ottawa (the Memory Care unit) and Putnam County Hospice for the excellent care of Mary.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. A private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery of Bluffton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
