Triplett Foundation accepting scholarship applications
The R.L. and Etta L. Triplett Memorial Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded to Bluffton High Schools seniors planning to enroll at Bluffton University in the fall.
Scholarships of $2,000 were presented to an individual BHS seniors in 2022 and 2023 during the May academic awards ceremony.
The amount of the 2024 award is dependent upon the number of student recipients. Students must be a Bluffton High School senior planning to attend Bluffton University who is not eligible for tuition exchange.
R.L. Triplett was the founder of the Triplett Corp. of Bluffton. His wife, Etta Lantz Triplett, was the founder of the Bluffton College Home Economics Department.
The foundation was incorporated in 1985 with goals to financially support the community of Bluffton in five areas:
• Community improvement projects
• Bluffton parks and recreation facilities
• Advancement of charitable institutions in the Bluffton vicinity
• Support Bluffton Hospital
• Support education, athletics, art and economic education in area schools
Members of the foundation board are Tomm Triplett, board president and grandson of R.L. and Etta Triplett, and James West, Terry Mullenhour, Pam Weisenbarger and Fred Steiner.
Scholarship applications are available in the Bluffton High School guidance office. The scholarship application deadline is April 2.
