Pirates Andreas and Matthews run in state track finals

DAYTON – A Bluffton High School senior athlete competed in the Div. III state track and field meet finals at Welcome Stadium in Dayton Friday evening, May 31.

Bluffton senior Theo Andreas set a personal-best record by finishing 14th in the 18-runner field of the 3200-meter boys finals Friday night. 

Andreas crossed the line in a time of 9:46.25. Whiteoak junior Landon Eyre won the 3200 race in 9:10.07.

Columbus Grove senior Luke Ellerbrock took fourth in 9:27.33.

Pirate freshman Nora Matthews ran in the girls 800-meter finals on Friday night. Her time was 2:20.79, placing her 12th among the 17 runners.

Smithville freshman Maryn Erdman won the girls 800-meter title in 2:13.17.

Smithville won the girls Div. III state title, with Coldwater second.

Marion Local captured the boys state crown, followed by Lowellville in second.
