Celebrate National Spider-Man Day with a Movie at the Library! Thur., Aug. 1 @ 3:00 p.m. in the library’s lower level. Movie is rated PG. Bring your own drinks and we’ll provide the popcorn!
Noon Book Group (R) meets Wed., Aug. 7 to discuss The Maid by Nita Prose. On Wed., Sept. 4 the group will discuss 18 Tiny Deaths by Bruce Goldfarb, who will join the group via Zoom. Stop by the library front desk to register and pick up the book!
Watercolor Workshop: Hot Air Balloons (R)($) will be held Thur., Aug. 8 at 2:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Beutler will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults and teens, and children with an accompanying adult.

Mobile Health Clinic: The next Mobile Health Clinic will be on Wed., Aug. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening.) Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.
*Osteoporosis screening will be available for the September 11 Mobile Health at the library.
Play Music on the Porch Day will be celebrated in Bluffton starting at Bluffton Public Library on Sat., Aug. 31 @ 10:00 a.m. near the library’s main entrance. Bring an instrument, your singing voice and/or your listening ears and a lawn chair to enjoy family friendly music. (If it’s a rainy day, folks may gather inside in a designated area.)
This event has been held at the Bluffton Public Library for the past 8 years and will be the start of this year’s Bluffton Porchfest, organized by Erik Reneker. Check out Bluffton
Porchfest music events throughout the day. Copies of the day’s schedule will be available at the Bluffton Public Library front desk.
Hummin' & Strummin' Song Circle meets at 5:30 p.m. each Monday the library is open. This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears!
Open Chess on Tuesdays! The library has an area designated on the Main Floor for open chess from 5:30-7:30 p.m every Tuesday the library is open. Bring your own board or use one of the library’s! All ages are welcome!
Kindergarten 1st Day of School Storytime is on Aug. 14 at 10:00 a.m. Starting school is exciting! Join us for a special Storytime to celebrate this new adventure through books, songs, and more! Stories and activities will be geared for children entering Kindergarten, but other friends and siblings are welcome to join in. No registration necessary.
Registration for the Fall Storytime series opens Wed., Aug. 21. Stop by the library or call us at 419-358-5016 to register.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten Completion Party is on Thurs., Aug. 15 @ 10:00 a.m. Has your child finished the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten? We want to celebrate their achievement. Those who have turned in the completed forms will be invited to attend the celebration. Any child who has recently completed “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” is welcome to attend - please register at the library or online.
Playgroup is held most Fridays at 10 a.m. Make a playdate and the library will provide the space and toys!
