Bluffton volleyball takes down Devils

BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton High School volleyball team defeated visiting Arlington in a four-set, non-league match on Tuesday, September 3.

The Pirates won 25-18, 25-10, 15-25, 25-16.

The home win improved the Pirate record to 7-1 this season. The Red Devils fell to 6-2 after the loss.

Kendall Stackhouse topped the Bluffton hitters with 15 kills, while Libby Hocanson knocked down 11 kills. She added a team-high 14 digs and served two aces.

Ayla Grandey added eight kills and 10 digs.

Setter Gracie Yarnell passed out 34 assists and dealt three aces. 

Avery Talavinia mustered up 13 digs and served up three aces. Vanessa Cross came up with 10 digs and served a pair of aces. Faith Combs added a block.

Bluffton captured the JV match 2-0, and also won the freshman bout 2-0.

The Pirates entertain BVC foe Elmwood (1-5) on Thursday, Sept. 5.
