MAUMEE BAY – Bluffton senior Evan Speicher competed at the 57-player Div. II northwest district golf tournament Thursday at the Maumee Bay State Park course.

Speicher finished in a five-way tie for 26th place with an 18-hole score of 46-42=88.

Only the top two teams and the top two individual finishers from non-qualifying teams advanced to the state tournament next week.

Upper Sandusky senior Brock Montgomery won the district individual title with a round of 35-38=73.

Coldwater senior Tyler Overman won a three-man playoff to earn the second state spot after shooting a round of 79.

Ottawa Hills won the district team crown with a total of 329 strokes.  St. Marys finished second (335), while Ottawa-Glandorf just missed state qualification by coming in third (346).
