Silver Birch Foundation holds Charity Gala on Dec. 14
First Black Ties & Silver Bells Charity Gala
LIMA__ Area Agency on Aging 3’s Silver Birch Foundation will be holding its first Black Ties & Silver Bells Charity Gala Saturday, December 14, 2024 at UNOH Event Center in Lima.
The Silver Birch Foundation was established in July 2017 to support the mission on Area Agency on Aging 3. There are many services and needs of older adults and those with disabilities that the agency in unable to use state or federal funding. The foundation comes in and helps fund those services and needs, taking the burden off the individual in need.
Area Agency on Aging 3 now in its 50th year, has been the building block to establish the Silver Birch Foundation. Sometimes there just aren’t the resources or means to help individuals or they have no where else to turn and when Area Agency on Aging 3 couldn’t help, they established the foundation to step in and provide for older adults and persons with disabilities that have a desperate need that can’t be met some other way.
“We are excited for the Black Ties & Silver Bells Gala. It not only will generate funds for the foundation, but is also a way to say thank you to those that have supported us all year long,” Jacqi Lucke, CEO of Area Agency on Aging 3 stated. “The proceeds from the ticket sales and silent auction go to help those that have been victimized and are facing hardships, such as eviction, or in need of food and necessities that they otherwise would not get assistance for through other programs.”
There is continuously growing need for assistance as the population ages and funding sources for those individuals and for persons with disabilities becomes more competitive and scarcer. Area Agency on Aging 3 reaches into 19 different counties and the Silver Birch Foundation tries to help fill the cracks where it can.
Predinner entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Lima Symphony Orchestra String Quartet. A sit down meal will be served by Lock 16 with dinner music done by Andrew Fox of Fox Entertainment, followed by dancing with music from New Frontier, Lima’s own Journey tribute band.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with sit down dinner served by Lock 16 at the UNOH Event Center in Lima on Cable Road. There will be a silent auction, jewelry pull, paddle raise, and online and in person 50/50 drawing. Santa will be making a special appearance to help celebrate the upcoming holidays.
