January 5
Officers received a civil complaint from a S. Spring St. resident.
January 8
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident on outstanding warrants issued by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
January 16
Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of N. Main St. reference a suspicious person. After removing the individual from the business, officers located the individual and issued him a criminal trespass notice to not return to the property. The subject was also charged with Disorderly Conduct and Menacing.
January 19
Officers received a theft complaint from a Bluffton resident. Items were stolen out of the victim’s vehicle while at the individual’s place of employment.
January 20
Officers received a complaint of the subject who was trespassed from the business earlier in the month being back at the business. After the subject did not locate what he was looking for at the business, he contacted the police to make a complaint. The subject left the police department before officers could arrive to speak with him. Officers observed a Main Street decorative steel trash bin holder in the roadway and orange papers scattered throughout the area. Officers checked the town hall security cameras and noticed the subject came into the town hall lobby, grabbed a stack of papers, and went outside and threw them. Security camera footage also showed the subject was the one who pushed the steel trash can holder into the roadway. In addition to being charged with Criminal Trespass, the subject, a Bluffton resident, was also charged with Criminal Mischief, and Littering. The cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.
A Pinebrook St. resident called police to report a fraud complaint.
January 24
Officers received a theft complaint from a S. Main St. resident.
January 26
Officers responded to the university in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle during the overnight hours.
January 27
Officers received a complaint of a theft from a motor vehicle during the overnight hours.
January 29
Officers responded to a Kibler St. residence for an unruly juvenile complaint.
