Stop the Postmaster General and the U.S. Postal Service from closing any more small-town post offices. We believe the financial crisis in the postal service is manufactured, and Americans are suffering because of it. Americans need and want their rural post offices.

That's why I created a petition on SignOn.org to Postmaster General, The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama, which says:

In this article by Huffington Post blogger Eleanor Goldberg, she gives some staggering statistics about human sex trafficking during the Super Bowl.

My question is this: Who are the men who are doing the raping? If there were 10,000 women hired to be raped in 2010 and one 12 year old was forced to be raped 20-50 times in one night, that's a lot of men paying (or not) to commit rape.

The cream of mushroom soup from Jeanne's Kitchen was voted the winner of Maple Crest's Feb. 1 soup cook-off. 

Soups from seven area restaurants were sampled by over 200 soup lovers during the event. Persons attending voted for their favorite soup.

Luke’s Bar & Grill of Bluffton with baked potato and bacon was voted second place.  Logan’s Seafood Chowder from Logan’s Irish Pub of Findlay took third place.  

Others who participated were Mustard Seed Café of Bluffton, Waldo Pepper’s of Findlay, J’s Diner of Lima and PamCakes of Columbus Grove.

Bluffton council Streets, Alleys and Light Committee will meet at 4;30 p.m.,Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the first floor conference room at the Bluffton town hall.

Betty Jean Sommers, 87, died at 4:54 p.m. Feb. 2, 2013 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.  She was born Aug. 4, 1925 in Union Township, Hancock County to the late Scott and Emma May (Burkholder) Edinger. On Sept. 4, 1948 she married Wesley Sommers and he died May 21, 2009.

Betty was an LPN retiring from Bluffton Hospital.  She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
