The Area Agency on Aging 3 (AAA3) is inviting community members to complete the Age My Way 2022 Community Survey.
AAA3 is conducting a community needs assessment to help capture the service needs in Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, and Van Wert Counties.
This information will assist in the development of Area Agency on Aging 3’s 2023-2026 Strategic Area Plan. Information gathered from this survey will assist in the planning and implementation of services, supports and resources in our local community.
Junior Amy Jebsen was named Bluffton High School student of the month for January 2022. She holds a 4.000 GPA.
Amy is the daughter of Chris and Sarah Jebsen of Bluffton. Amy is involved in many activities and clubs including: Student Senate, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Math Club, Symphonic, Chamber and Show Choirs .
She is a member of the Lima Community Church and is in the worship band, choir, youth group and bible quiz team.
At their winter meeting, the Bluffton University Board of Trustees approved new endowed scholarships and worked on best practices for governing the institution.
Trustees voted to establish the John D. Unruh Jr. Memorial Scholarship. Established by Elda Unruh in memory of her husband, John D. Unruh Jr., who was an accomplished member of the Bluffton history faculty from 1967 to his untimely death in January 1976.
Cory-Rawson Elementary School is hosting a Family Literacy Night from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on March 8 as part of the Right to Read Week celebration. This is the sixth annual event to promote literacy to families.
The event includes a book fair with all proceeds benefit our school library.
The Bluffton University softball team made a day of it in Leesburg, FL, but the wait was worth it as Head Coach Paige Jansen picked up her first and second wins as the head coach of the Beavers! Bluffton improved to 2-1 on the season before a torrential downpour capped off the marathon on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Mount Mary jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Beavers responded with their first runs of the season in the home half when Madison Jones (West Milton/Milton Union) and Lily Tate (Mount Gilead/Northmor) laced back-to-back RBI singles.
