A local dog and cat rescue group, A Lotta Love Pet Rescue, is in the midst of its annual fund drive.
"All contributions are tax deductible in full," said David Baumgartner of Bluffton, who is member of the organization. A Lotta Love Pet rescue is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization."
Jacob Litwiller, a trumpet player from Hopedale, Ill., will present his Bluffton University senior recital at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in Yoder Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
Litwiller is a student of Dr. Jeffrey Boehm, a professor of music at Bluffton. Boehm will join Litwiller and 12 others-primarily current Bluffton students-in an instrumental ensemble that will perform Litwiller's "Quintet No. 2 in A," conducted by Brandon Fullenkamp, a Bluffton senior from Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Vocalist Sarah Diller will perform her Bluffton University senior recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in Yoder Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
The Bluffton native, a soprano, will sing numbers by Handel, Rachmaninoff, Schubert and Georges Bizet, as well as "If Somebody There Chanced to Be," from Gilbert and Sullivan's "Ruddigore"; "The Girl in 14G" by Jeanine Tesori; and "Shine" by James Valcq, from the musical "The Spitfire Grill."
Darryl Moody, assistant professor of art at Bluffton University, will reflect this Friday, April 1, on his photographic work that resulted from a Bluffton University Research Center grant last summer.
Set for 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall's Stutzman Lecture Hall, his colloquium presentation, "Large Format Fine Art Printing: Approach, Process and Proof," will follow the stages of capturing, developing, editing, printing and presenting unique photographic works in an enlarged view. The event is free and open to the public.
