Gene Benroth, also known as "Mr. Bluffton" was apparently fishing at the Buckeye when along came Paul Diller, who snapped his photo. This is a color slide from the collection of Jim Diller. Our best guess on a date is the mid-1970s,

Special New Year's services will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. The New Year's Eve service begins at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 and the New Year's Day service is at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 1. Everyone is welcome and the church is handicapped accessible. Bluffton Public Library's monthly book discussion will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5.

"A Civil Action" by Jonathan Harr is the selected title for January's discussion. The book discussion will be held at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e.Anyone interested in attending is welcome and a month-to-month commitment is not required. Copies of the book are available at the library.
