What to expect when you’re expecting a total eclipse

The April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse is bringing with it a virtual storm of eclipse advice and promotions. The Icon readership area spans four counties, quadrupling the amount of information available.

The recent Blufftion Lions 90th anniversary celebration has the Icon browsing the Bluffton Public Library digital archive for echoes of today's headlines. We recently posted the Bluffton schools' winter newsletter; HERE is a 1934 equivalent, the B-Hi-News with stories on a musical production of the H.M.S. Pinafore and the expected introduction of kindergarten classes.

Kewpee High School Invitational Art Exhibit opens March 22

LIMA__ArtSpace/Lima will host the 36th Annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational from  March 22-April 12, 2024. 

Artwork is categorized in nine areas: Ceramics, Digital Media, Drawing, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography,  Printmaking, and Sculpture. Artists from eighteen area high schools entered work to be exhibited.

Bluffton University campus closed for eclipse on April 8

Bluffton University grounds and roads will be closed to the public on April 8, 2024.

Bluffton University is a host site for researchers from the University of Wyoming. Research participants from the University of Wyoming will be permitted on campus per an agreed upon schedule with university officials.

No public viewing spaces for the Total Solar Eclipse will be available. All parking lots will be closed to visitors.

Youth Soccer Complex plan discussed at March 11 council meeting

The March 11 meeting of the Bluffton council was the Mitch Kingsley and Bluffton Soccer Club show. This reporter expected something out of the ordinary when eight people were in attendance, a large crowd for a council meeting.

Registration for Session 4 of adult indoor soccer

Bluffton Family YMCA has announced that Session 4 of Adult Indoor Soccer is open for registration. The deadline to register is March 24.
