How do we regulate our emotions in times of uncertainty? 2020 has been a year that many of us wish would come to an end. A pandemic that has people fearful, neighbors arguing and everyone forced to socially isolate. Watching a volatile market take staccato breaths while playing with our life savings and retirement.

"I was told to go to a wound care center for my diabetic foot infection and that I may benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy. What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?"

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that increases the amount of oxygen in a patient's blood. HBOT involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment.

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “Your Respiratory Health During COVID-19 & Beyond,” a part of the 2020 virtual “Live and Learn” Facebook Live series. 

Dr. Rafid Fadul, a physician with Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Dr. Bill Kose, vice president of special projects, will co-host a livestream discussion regarding the effects and treatment options for COVID-19 and other serious respiratory conditions.

Specifically, is the pain worse first thing when you get up in the morning? If so, you may be suffering from a common foot condition known as plantar fasciitis. This common foot ailment will affect 1 in 10 people during their lifetime and is more common in women than men.

The Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary recently awarded ten $1,000.00 scholarships to students in the Hancock County area, interested in pursuing a health-related career. The 2020 Hospital Auxiliary scholarship winners include:

Blanchard Valley Health System acquires the Findlay Surgery Center

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) recently acquired the Findlay Surgery Center (FSC), thereby adding an outpatient surgery center to its continuum of services.

The FSC will continue to offer surgical and procedural services in orthopedics, podiatry, general surgery, ENT (otolaryngology), pain management, plastic and cosmetic surgery, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, endoscopic and oral surgery.
