Blanchard Valley Hospital is proud to announce that it has been named one of Becker's Hospital Review's "100 Great Community Hospitals" in the United States. This is the fourth time that the organization has received this distinction.
This award comes on the heels of BVH being named among the nation's 100 Top Hospitals for the sixth time by IBM Watson Health, a leading provider of data-driven analytics and solutions to improve the cost and quality of health care.
Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) will host “Living with Chronic Back Pain,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about methods of coping with chronic back pain.
This event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium of BVH and led by Becky Alexander, physical therapist from The Julie A. Cole Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine and John Ogden, MD, neurosurgeon from Neurosurgical Associates of Northwest Ohio.
Dr. George Abate, DO, on the staff of Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology (located in the Neil and Laura Clark Women and Children’s Center), Findlay, says he didn’t go to medical school to join a large city practice.
“I’m all about personal, individualized patient care,” he said, adding that he feels right at home in the Blanchard Valley Health System community.
The Ohio University College of Medicine graduate performed his residency at Cleveland Clinic.
The surgery department of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has recently reached the milestone of 5,000 surgical procedures completed using a daVinci robot, which allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery. BVHS is only the second health system in northwest Ohio to achieve this milestone.
