Indoor Farmers Market debuts at Bluffton Senior Center

On Saturday, January 27, the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will bring a pop up Farmers Market to the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. The vendor lineup includes Probst Family Farm, The Bluffton Baking Co., The Noble Goose Bakehouse, Kathleen’s Kitchen, Bent Nail Bakery, Quarry Farm, Firm Roots Farm, My Own Backyard Herbs, Taste Tempters, Sweet Dream Gourmet, Robins in the Kitchen, Feel The Burn Hot Sauce, Wild Vine Farm, Old Homestead Soaps and Lotions and Connie Diller's home grown nuts. Market hours are 8:30 a.m.-noon.

AI and creative writing to be explored at Bluffton Colloquium

Tobias Buckell, instructor of English, will share, “Can Artificial Intelligence Write Decent Creative Fiction?” during Bluffton University’s spring 2024 Colloquium series. 

The presentation is free and open to the public at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall. 

BVHS announces changes to board

The Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) Board of Trustees and the Blanchard Valley Health Foundation have announced several recent changes to its members and officers.

The BVHS Board has appointed Thomas Lause, Kay Chester and Christian Steiner, MD, as its newest trustees. 

GROB Systems provides plans, target date for East Building expansion

GROB Systems, Inc., which broke ground in December 2023 on a 135,000 sq. ft. expansion project, has announced the new building will add approximately 35% more space for production and shipping to the existing 400,000 sq. ft. U.S. headquarters and manufacturing facility in Bluffton, Ohio.

Hook: Drug advertising

In 1991, the film Hook directed by Steven Spielberg was released. The film was the sequel to the 1911 novel Peter & Wendy. The movie starred Robin Williams as Peter Pan, Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook, and Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell. Jimmy Buffett and David Crosby made cameo appearances as pirates in the movie.
