#17 Baldwin-Wallace takes down Beavers 45-13

The Bluffton University football team traveled to Berea on Saturday, Sept. 8, to take on the 17th ranked Baldwin-Wallace Yellow Jackets in a non-conference matchup. The Beavers (1-1) struggled against a Yellow Jacket team that finished 8-2 a year ago, falling to the hosts 45-13 in Balwin-Wallace’s season opener.

"Kossuth's Message" to be presented at Bluffton University Sept. 17

Bluffton University will host a performance of “Kossuth’s Message,” marking the 160th anniversary of Hungarian statesman Lajos (Louis) Kossuth’s visit to America, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in Yoder Recital Hall.

The presentation is Bluffton’s Constitution Day Forum. All educational institutions that receive federal funds are required to offer an instructional program each year on or near Sept. 17, the day the United States Constitution was signed in 1787.

Bluffton panel to address technology, distraction Sept. 18

A panel moderated by Dr. Zachary Walton, assistant professor of communication at Bluffton University, will discuss “Being an Audience in an Age of Distraction” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Bluffton’s Founders Hall. The forum is free and open to the public.

Walton, as moderator, will frame the issue as critical engagement with new communication technologies. The six-member panel will consider how those technologies are shaping people’s experiences and expectations of community spaces and rituals.

Bluffton volleyball team wins third straight over Ohio Northern

The Bluffton University volleyball team downed local rival Ohio Northern in four sets on Sept. 5. It marked Bluffton's third consecutive victory over the Polar Bears who dropped their first match of the season after starting 4-0. The Beavers improved to 3-2 following the hard-fought win in a humid Founders Hall. Attendance was estimated at 500.
