The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the winter honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2010-11 school year. 10 Bluffton University athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom. Indoor track and women's basketball led the way for the Beavers with five and four honorees, respectively.

The Bluffton University softball team dropped a pair of contests at Heidelberg University on a cold Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The Beavers fell to 8-7 on the season while Heidelberg upped its mark to 10-2 overall.

Vocalist Sarah Diller, a Bluffton University senior, won the second annual Mosiman Young Artist Competition March 20 at Bluffton's Bach Festival Concert.

A $100 cash prize accompanied the title for the Bluffton native, a soprano and a vocal performance major. She was one of three finalists chosen to perform at the concert that concluded the festival, hosted by the university's music department.

Bluffton University seniors Megan Yoder, Maegan Rohdes and Anthony Jenkins will showcase their artwork during Bluffton's second Senior Exhibition, March 29-April 8 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center. The exhibit, titled "Culmination," is free and open to the public, as is a reception for the artists from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 3.

Writer Clint McCown will present "Finding Your Way Through the Dark Woods: How Novels Come into Being" in a Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, in Founders Hall. Part of Bluffton's 27th annual English Festival, the forum is free and open to the public.

McCown is the guest author at the festival, an event for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who visit the university for a day of literary and writing activities, including workshops and discussion with Bluffton faculty and the featured writer.

Bluffton University's Camerata Singers, who recently returned from a spring-break tour, will reprise the tour program, "From Prayer to Praise," in their "Home" concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 27, in Yoder Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
