In the world of equities, the second quarter of the year was anything but dull. April saw the large-cap S&P 500 and Dow make marginal gains, with the small-cap Russell 2000 and the Global Dow leading the way for the month.

Two options for one-week piano camps offered by Krysti's Music Studio

Krysti’s Music Studio, 334 S. Main St., Bluffton, offers two separate music piano camps in July and August, according to Krysti Schey.

Camps are at the music studio. The first is from Monday to Thursday, July 25-28. The second is from Monday to Thursday, Aug. 1-4.

Morning and afternoon camp options are available both weeks. Separate camps are for youth ages 5 to 9 and ages 10 to 14.

“No prior music experience is needed,” said Schey. To register or for more details call Schey at 419-233-5255.

Clubhouse gives Shirley's a "10" for promoting literacy

While University of Findlay tutors’ reading ability was ranked by their students from 1 to 4 on the last day of the Clubhouse’s summer session, a local business received a resounding “10” from all attendees.

Bluffton-based Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Company’s Findlay store presented a check for $3,455 to the Clubhouse, UF’s free literacy outreach service for kids in Hancock County and surrounding areas.

Sports Warehouse new owner expanding product line

Need sports apparel?

Sports Warehouse, 111 N. Main St., under new ownership since May, continues to expand its product selection of spirit wear and custom apparel.

According to Natalie Mueller, new owner, “We offer any imprinted material, mostly apparel. This ranges all the way caps, tee-shirts, tank tops, tote bags, hoodies, hats, towels, gym bags and lots of special-event apparel.”

They're grilling for lunch on Thursdays at The Dough Hook

Have lunch plans?

The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., Bluffton, has  lots of ideas for you. For example, each Thursday in the summer from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Dough Hook grills for lunch.

According to Marlena Ballinger, sandwiches off the grill includes cheeseburgers, hamburgers, brats and MooOink burgers. (Those are one-half beef and one-half pork.)
