Bluffton Historical meets October 8

The October monthly meeting of the Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will take place on October 9.

FMC indoor Fall Festival, October 27

5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct 27 at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St.

Here's the invitation from First Mennonite Church:

"Wear your costumes and join the fun at FMC’s indoor Fall Festival."

"Activities include Trick or Treat stations, photo booth, games, scavenger hunt, pumpkin decorating, and more! Hot dogs and snacks provided.

"This event is geared towards kids ages 0-12 but open to all. Adult supervision required."

Pirate boys soccer nipped late by Celina

BLUFFTON – The Bluffton boys soccer team gave up a goal in the final two minutes and lost 2-1 to visiting non-league foe Celina at Steinmetz Field Monday, October 7.

Celina’s Zaden Rolfes scored in the 79th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the visiting Bulldogs the victory.

The Pirate record dropped to 8-8 overall after the tough loss. Celina improved to 11-4-1 after the last-minute victory.

Celina led 1-0 after a goal in the 37th minute by Carson Staudler.

Lima Allen County Regional Planning featured at October BACC meeting

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly breakfast meeting on Friday, October 11.The meeting is held on the third floor of the Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

Bluffton University is the breakfast sponsor and Greenhorn is the caterer. Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. and the program begins at 7:30 a.m.

The progrm will be a presentation by the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission. Cody Doyle and Liwen Kang will explain the role of the Commission and the services they offer.

Pirate boys seeded 1st in soccer sectional

BLUFFTON – The Bluffton High School boys soccer team was seeded first at the nine-team Tiffin Div. V sectional drawing Sunday, October 6.

Number one seed Bluffton (8-7) will host the winner between six seed Huron (4-9-2) and fifth seed Ashland Crestview (6-7-2) in the quarterfinals Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. 

Huron and Crestview tied 1-1 on Sept. 21.

The winner from that quarter of the draw will face the Old Fort (4-10-1)/Mansfield Christian (7-7-1) survivor in the semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. in Tiffin.
