A Mom2Mom fall sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 15, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church gymnasium, 8905 Grove Road, Bluffton.
The event is sponsored by Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). Admission is free. A bake sale by donation and non-perishable food collection for the Bluffton Communtiy Assistance food pantry will also take place.
The next big event on Ada's calendar is the 33rd annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest and Herb Festival in downtown Ada, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. As in past year’s, it will fill Ada’s Main Street from Highland to College.
The festival has 180 spaces available for vendors and so far over 150 spaces are signed-up. Crafters are encouraged to register as soon as possible to insure a booth.
Booths are 12 feet wide by 8 feet deep and are available while they last.
Transition Bluffton will hold a public event at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve during, which participants will experience the emotional and health benefits of being in nature.
Although modern technologies are making our life easier, more and more people are experiencing a sense of unease and anxiety. New scientific research is concluding that our being disconnected from nature may be the cause. Scientists are finding that a connection to the natural world is crucial for our health and well-being.
Teresa Lambert of the Hancock County Historical Museum, will present a program at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center about famous local entertainers on Monday. The talk, free and open to the public, is at 3 p.m. at the center, 132 N. Main St., according to Tonya Meyer, director.
This is the first of monthly programs provided by the Hancock museum at the sernior Center. The next program is Monday, Oct. 8. The program theme is “Driving Track Auto Industry.”
The Quarry Farm, nature preserve and conservation farm in rural Pandora, has several programs planned this fall, including a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The preserve is located at 14321 Road 7L, rural Pandora.
