Timeless classic "Cinderella" presented by Bluffton High School this weekend

"Cinderella" comes to the Bluffton Middle School stage this weekend as Bluffton High School presents the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicial on two evenings and one afternoon.

Performances are Friday, April 15, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 16, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 17 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are on sale in the Middle School office. Reserved seats are $10. General admission seats are $5 for adult, $3 for students.

Ideas, institutions key to curbing poverty: Andreas

How a society can escape poverty begins with having more, or better versions, of four things, a Bluffton University economist says.

Leading the list are more, and better, ideas, Dr. Jonathan Andreas, an assistant professor of economics at Bluffton, told a campus audience April 5. Outlining global poverty history at the university's annual Civic Engagement Forum, Andreas credited improved technology, "more than anything else," with helping alleviate poverty in the last 200 years.

Charles Niswander and Phillip Kingsley presented ideas for a proposed Bluffton Heritage Center to an over-flow audience of 75 persons at Friday's Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
