Depending upon how long you can stay awake tonight (Monday, Dec. 20), you may view portions of a solstice lunar eclipse.

ATTENTION: ICON VIEWS WHO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE EVENT - PLEASE SEND THEM TO US.

Everyone knows that "the moon on the breast of new-fallen snow gives the luster of mid-day to objects below." That is, except during a lunar eclipse.

School board's final meeting of 2010 Dec. 20

Bluffton school board's final meeting of 2010 will cover largely year-end housekeeping items. The meeting is at 8:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20, in the elementary media center.

Christmas from a second grader perspective

The Icon asked second graders in Bev Stockman's class what they think of when then think of Christmas. Here are their responses.

We have a lot of stuff to do in my house for Christmas. I love to see all kinds of things. I like to see the tree sparkle. I like to hear lots of bells. I like to smell pies and cakes. I like to taste cookies and strawberries. I like it feel snow and Santa's beard. I know Santa and I'll get presents. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year.
