Dean's Arco Sinclair, once a filling station in Bluffton, serviced customers at the corner of College and Main. The Bluffton Public Library parking lot now covers the location of the station.

Once upon a time there was Crow's 5 and Dime

Once upon a time in Bluffton there was Crow's 5 and Dime. It was originally on South Main Street in what today is the lobby of Citizens National Bank. It later moved to what today is Grove's Bears store.

Ingalls Restaurant was located where Tu Puebo Mexican Restaurant, 142 N. Main St., is today. 

Would you pick up a loaf of bread for me, please?

Continuing a look at yearbook advertisements, here's one from the 1926 Bluffton College Ista. At Siefield's Bakery you could buy sandwich bread. The bakery was located in what is today The Food Store on South Main Street. The owner was Herb Siefield.

A new Frigidaire would be nice for the kitchen

Need a Frigidaire, or a Maytag washing machine? Stop in at E.M. Kennel, dealer, at 108 S. Main St., Bluffton. This advertisement is from the 1932 Bluffton High School yearbook.

The address of this business is now part of the Citizens National Bank block. Think of it this way, Edward Jones is 107 N. Main. The Maytag dealer would have been located right across the street.

Here is a Bluffton business advertisement from the 1933-34 Bluffton High School yearbook. The yearbook was called the "Annual Leaves" and was not yet the "Buccanneer."

The advertiser was D.C. and Gordon Bixel, O.D., optometrists. Their business was on the second floor of the Citizens National Bank building. Telephone number: 364-W.
