Melissa "Missy" Calvelage

Melissa "Missy" A. Calvelage of Bluffton, and formerly of Ft. Jennings died at 9:55 a.m. April 17, 2012, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born Dec. 6, 1976, in Lima to John and Sharon (Lammers) Calvelage who survive in Bluffton. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada, Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a Gold Award Girl Scout. She was a graduate of Ft. Jennings High School and Vantage Vocational School in Van Wert.

Donna Badertscher

Donna Badertscher, 88, of Bluffton died at 5:07 a.m. April 16, 2012, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born June 19, 1923 in Hoytville to Floyd and Hester Boyer Dishong. On July 22, 1944 she married Lester Badertscher and he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1997.

Mrs. Badertscher was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a member of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora and a graduate of Hoytville High School.

A Celebration of Life service has been scheduled for Richard Hauenstein who died March 15. The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday April 14, at the First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Chaplain William Herr and Rev. Louise Wideman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Kristine Frick DeBolt, 68, of Pandora, died at her home Tuesday, April 3, 2012. She was born Jan. 11, 1944 in Bellefontaine to Arthur and Ann (Harding) Frick who preceded her in death.

On Dec. 4, 1999, she married Reuben DeBolt, who survives in Pandora.

Also surviving are her son, Ty Comer of Pandora, her brother Mark (Dee) Frick of Elida, and her sister Karen (Wayne) Smith of Hilliard. She was preceded in death by her sister Jan Frick .

Mrs. DeBolt is also survived by step-daughters Sarah DeBolt of Bogota, Colombia, and Rebekah DeBolt of Knoxville, Tenn.

Former Bluffton resident Mary Jane Snyder of Kingsburg, Calif., died at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Glenn, an Adjunct Professor at Fresno Pacific University; a son, Gregg (Christine) of Springville, Calif.; a daughter, Jill Peterson (Paul) of Kingsburg, Calif.; six grandchildren, Coriann, Mady and Grant Snyder and Haley, Jace, and Cade Peterson; and a sister, Kathy (Lance) Cappello of Telford, Pa.

She was born in Lansdale, Pa. Her parents were Naomi and Woodrow Rittenhouse of Souderton, Pa.

Deloris E. Hemry, 77, of Bluffton, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 8:18 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

She was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Columbus Grove to Jesse Franklin and Laura (Hartman) Mumea. On July 5, 1963, she married Roger L. Hemry and he died May 1, 1998.

Mrs. Hemry was a member of the North Shore Animal League, the Sierra Club and Feature Films for Families. She was a member of the Tri-County Family Assembly of God.

Surviving are four sons, Dennis (Rose) Dearth, Donald Dearth, Roger (Sandra) Hemry, and Vincent (Deb) Hemry.
