Norman Rex was former Ada mayor and council member

Retired dean of engineering technologies at Rhodes State College • Active in countless Ada community events

Norman J. Rex, 86, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:55 p.m. at the Memorial Hospital, Marysville.

He was born on June 27, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Dick O. and Margaret (Johnston) Rex. On Oct. 7, 1956, Norman married Kay Maxson and she survives in Ada. They were coming up on their 65th wedding anniversary.

Kate Gundy was office manager at Celebration of Health

Bluffton College graduate • Memorial service at a later date

Kathryn "Kate" Jo Gundy, 62, died April 11, 2021 at her residence. Kate was born July 1,1958 in Bloomington, Illinois, to Roger and Arlene (Ringenberg) Gundy. 

Kate graduated from Flanagan High School in Flanagan, Illinois, and received her bachelor's degree in education from Bluffton College. After graduation, she did voluntary service and taught in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Kate worked at the Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center at Bluffton University and most recently was the business/office manager at the Celebration of Health in Bluffton.

Kayla Hall was a 2012 Cory-Rawson HS graduate

Kayla Elisabeth Hall, 27, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at her residence in Findlay, Ohio. Kayla was born on May 23, 1993, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Jami Hall and Jason Davis.

She is survived by her mother and step-father who raised her, Jami and Keith Hall of Findlay, and her father, Jason Davis of Lima, as well as her two sons, Keaton Hall and Kasen Hall. Keaton and Kasen’s father, Shaun Ludwig survives in Benton Ridge.

Dale Stever was retired from Ford engine plant

He served as past commander of Bower-Slusser American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove

Dale E. Stever, 82, died at 6:43 a.m., on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Allentown, Ohio, to the late Harold and Opal (Wheeler) Stever.

He had been married to Marelese K. (Wilsey) Stever and she survives.

Dale is survived by two sons, Scott (Karin) Stever of Ottawa and Greg Stever of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Josie Stever, Beau Stever, Sean (Brook) Stever and Marty Stever; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Gary Stever and his sister, Gloria Jean Stever.

Joanne Buhler Voth was a Bluffton College graduate

She worked in several mission-related agencies around the world

Former Bluffton resident Joanne Buhler Voth, 91, a resident of Rockingham, Virginia, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at her home.

Joanne was born on Dec. 6, 1929, to Gerhard Buhler from Mt Lake, Minnesota, and Leucile (Steiner) Buhler, from Bluffton.         

She graduated from Bluffton College in 1951 with a degree in elementary education.

On Sept. 2, 1950, she married Leland Willis Voth, son of Rev. William C. and Matilda (Kliewer) Voth in the First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
