Kaitlyn Clymer is the Bluffton Icon's Bluffton High School artist of the month. She is a BHS senior and has taken the following art classes: Art One, Design, Design two, Photography, Advanced Photography, Mural.
"I get my love for art from another talented artist, my mom," she said.
"I think I enjoy it so much because the possibilities are endless of what you can make. I can create something in my head and make it into a physical copy for everyone to see, which is the wildest thing to me."
Levi Probst, Bluffton, is the winner of the Ohio State vs. Michigan football contest.
With 70 entries in the contest, no contestant picked OSU to win by more than 21 points. OSU won by 23, winning 62 to 39.
Probst was the closest contestant. He predicted OSU to win by 14 to 20 points. He won both tie-breakers, saying OSU would score first and would lead at the half.
Kaitlyn Clymer, Amanda Speicher and Lily Shadle display new music folders provided to the Bluffton strings program this month through a Bluffton Icon grant.
The three are seniors in the BHS orchestra. Speicher and Clymer play violin; Shadle plays viola.
"The Icon decided to be a serious supporter of the Bluffton school strings program," said Fred Steiner. "We hope to continue this sponsorship each year."
Maple Crest Senior Living Village will provide a festive meal and entertainment at the Tuesday, Dec. 4, PrimeTimers Fellowship. The luncheon menu includes: Stuffed Chicken Marsala, glazed carrots, au gratin potatoes, cranberry/walnut bread, coffee and dessert. The Bluffton High School Show Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Kara Zink, will provide the entertainment.
Maple Crest Villa resident Bob Hower is a one-person assembly line. At age 90, he can look back on a lifetime of building and remodeling homes and restoring old cars.
“I built my own house and remodeled five,” Hower added. “I’ve built two barns and restored more than 50 automobiles.”
The Bluffton Bucs midget football is back on track like the teams in the early 1990s.
The Bucs entered into the Junior Buckeye League four years ago, playing against teams from NWCC, BVC, NWC and WBL conferences.
This year’s season started out strong with both the 3rd and 4th grade JV team and the 5th and 6th grade Varsity team winning their opening games by shutout.
