On the Ohio Northern University dean's list

The following area students were named to the Ohio Northern dean's list for the spring semenster.

Britni M. Cheney, daughter of David and Anna Cheney, 207 Township Road 28, Bluffton. She is a sophomore majoring in biology.

Lauren R. Hector, daughter of D. Keith and Rhonda Hector, 111 TR 20, Mount Cory, a freshman majoring in graphic design.

Jessica L. Liska, daughter of David and Susan Liska, 8433 Phillips Rd, Bluffton, a sophomore majoring in middle childhood education.

Dick Ramseyer receives International Leadership Award at state Lions convention

Dick Ramseyer, a member of the Bluffton Lions Club, has received the International Leadership Award at the Ohio State Lions Convention. The event was May 19 in Columbus.

Lions District Governors from around the state recommend Lions in their district for national awards who have provided exemplary service to their community.

"It was a pleasure for me to recommend Dick from District 13-A for the International Leadership Award provided by the Lions International President, Wing-Kun Tam," said Barbara Plaugher also of the Bluffton club.

Casey: 1997
Jennifer: 1998

You are living in a Cleveland suburb. What's it like and where do you both work?

We currently live in Willowick. We love being in this small community because it reminds us of Bluffton. Another nice thing about living here is all the nearby parks, it is very close to where we both work, and the lake is just across the street.

May 3 - Avelyn Grace Niese, daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Niese, Leipsic, 20 inches, 7 lbs., 8 oz.

May 6 - Braydan A. Dunlap, son of Chad and Christie Dunlap, Columbus Grove, 20 inches, 7 lbs., 9 oz.

May 7 - Parker Reubin, son of Gerry Lamie and Jessica Dietelbach, Pandora, 10 inches, 6 lbs., 13 oz.

Nine valedictorians in the BHS class of 2012

Nine members of the Bluffton High School class of 2012 were named class valedictorians.

Those students are: Hannah Chappell-Dick, Michael Liska, Lindsey Sneary, Ashlin Gable, Abbey Rieman, Taylor Steele, Lucas Harnish, Halle Steingass and Jayne Sycks.

Class salutatorian is Kallen Terry.

The Bluffton High School 2012 commencement is at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at Bluffton High School.
