Troop 256 among 32 patrols

On Saturday, January 15, after a two-year hiatus, nearly 400 Black Swamp Area Council Boy Scouts competed in the 2022 Klondike Derby at Camp Lakota in Defiance. Thirty-two patrols participated in the event, including Bluffton's Tropp 256 and Troop 29G from Edgerton, the first female patrol to participate in a Black Swamp Area Council Klondike Derby.

Bluffton High School girls will swim beginning at noon. 

Bluffton High School boys will swim beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On February 12, the Black Swamp Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America held an Annual Meeting luncheon honoring recipients of the Silver Beaver award, including Mike Metzger of Bluffton.

The Bluffton Lions Club is seeking nominees for the 2021 Citizen of the Year Award. The award was established in 1981 to honor a person, couple, or person representing a group, who has selflessly given time, effort, and talent for the benefit of those in the Bluffton area, and whose dedication and achievements have profoundly improved the quality of life of the people in this area.

On February 7, the Bluffton High School Academic Team competed in the Ada Invitational Quiz Bowl Competition and went undefeated in the round-robin tournament with a 5-0 record.  

The ten teams competing were Ada, Bluffton, Cory-Rawson, Elida, Hardin-Northern, Kenton, Liberty-Benton, Ridgemont, Riverdale and USV.  Riverdale finished second, with Ada only 2 points behind Riverdale, finishing in third.

Bluffton High School art students have had 14 pieces of art accepted by the annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational at ArtSpace/Lima. The show at 65-67 Town Square, Lima, runs from February 11-26. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and admission is free.
