Severe weather safety reminders

Severe storms including tornadoes resulted in damage, injuries and 11 deaths in the South and Midwest on Friday March 31-Saturday April 1. AEP Ohio has issued the following reminders on safety precautions:

"We strongly encourage customers with life-supporting medical equipment to have a backup power source and an alternate plan in the event of a power outage.

"As we get ready for the latest incoming weather, you too can prepare yourself and your loved ones by following these tips:

Sirens sounded and the Allen County Sheriff issued A TORNADO WARNING for Allen County, Ohio from 1:00-1:15 a.m on April 1, 2023.

YouTuber’s search for helicopter ends in Bluffton, spotlights local Life Flight and airport

This week YouTuber Heavy D Sparks–who is also a co-star of the Discovery Channel series Diesel Brothers–posted a video on the successful end to the search for his dream helicopter, the Dolphin (a.k.a. Dauphin). The video is titled “How a $250,000 Scam Helped Me Find My Dream Helicopters.”

March 2023 field reports from the Ohio Division of Wildlife

Northwest Ohio – Wildlife District Two 
During the 2022 white-tailed deer archery hunting season, State Wildlife Officer Michele Butler, assigned to Erie County, responded to a call from the TIP (Turn-In-A-Poacher) hotline. A deer hunter reported seeing several hunters trespassing on a neighboring property. Officer Butler found a blood trail and tracks that led to a neighboring residence. Officer Butler spoke to the owner of the residence and determined that a buck had recently been harvested but the hunter had not game checked the deer and had retrieved it from the neighboring property without permission.
