Neva Adams is BHS student of the month

Neva Adams, a senior, is the September student of the month at Bluffton High School. She is the daughter of Frank Adams and Dana Neely of Bluffton.

Adams is a member of the BHS band, co-editor of the yearbook, and carries a GPA of 3.948. She is enrolled in the post secondary program at Bluffton University, and after graduation, would  like to attend the University of Iowa and study English and elementary education.

Northwest Physical Therapy and Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio highlight physical therapy month

Northwest Physical Therapy and Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio have partnered together for more than two decades to provide rehab services to Bluffton and the surrounding area.  October is National Physical Therapy month and a chance to highlight this local partnership of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Lions to meet Oct. 7

The Bluffton Lions Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 7 on the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.11:45 – 1:00p.m. Lunch will be provided by Henry’s Restaurant, tat a cost of $8 per person.

Featured speaker will be Bluffton mayor Judy Augsburger.  She report on the state of Bluffton village affairs.

The agenda will include discussion of the Lions' upcoming roadside clean-up, as well as the   Blaze of Lights chicken barbecue and parade.

Lions Way Bike and Pedestrian Pathway ribbon cutting Oct. 21

The public is invited to a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Lions Way Bike and Pedestrian Pathway in Bluffton at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to Richard Ramseyer, chair of the pathway board.

The event takes place at Comfort Inn, 117 Commerce Lane, at the eastern entrance of the pathway. The pathway follows the abandoned Akron, Canton and Youngstown Railroad from Comfort Inn to its western entrance near Tower Automotive, 18717 County Road 15.

Oct. 8 is "walk to school day"

The Allen County Creating Healthy Communities Project, Allen County Bike and Pedestrian Task Force and Allen County Public Health are promoting Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Volunteers needed Nov. 8 to set up Ream display

Terry Mullenhour, chair of the Bluffton cultural affairs committee, invites any interested resident to help place the Ream holiday folk art display pieces on the Presbyterian Church lawn next month.

The set up is Saturday morning, Nov. 8. Mullenhours said volunteers can bring hammers and screwdrivers and be ready to help place the pieces in the yard for the 2014 Blaze of Lights season.
