BVHS offering scholarships to area students, BVHS associates

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is offering educational scholarships to individuals pursuing health care careers. High school seniors entering college, current college students and BVHS associates are eligible to apply.

A complete list of scholarships, along with applications, deadlines, qualifications and contact information can be viewed at www.bvhealthsystem.org by clicking on the "Scholarships" link under the "Careers" menu.

Rodney and Jane Stratton celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Rodney and Jane (Steinman) Stratton of Bluffton will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24, 2012. They were married by Rev. Bradtke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jenera on Feb. 24, 1962.

They have three children: Amie Stratton, Jay (Barb) Stratton and Shawn (Nancy) Stratton. Rod and Jane also have seven grandchildren.

Jane is a homemaker and Rodney is a farmer. They are members of Bluffton's First United Methodist Church. A family celebration will take place at a later date.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce this week released its calendar of events, which include chamber program, major festivals, parades, and other annual activities that take place in Bluffton this year. Tastefully Simple, May Kay Cosmetics, Premier Designs open house Feb. 25

Bluffton residents Amy Roby, representing Tastefully Simple, and Brandy Cox, representing Mary Kay Cosmetics, join Heather Blankenship of Findlay, representing Premier Designs, in an open house later this month in Findlay.

The open house is from 12:30 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at Blanchard Valley School, 1700 E. Sandusky St., Findlay. The event includes an afternoon of fun and food and a display of the products these women represent.
