Author/adventurer Brandon Weis will recount his grueling 2021 “Triple Crown” hike along the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail and the Arizona Trail at the Bluffton Public Library Tuesday, July 16 at 6 p.m.

His rugged year of hiking entailed carrying a 20-30 pound backpack for over 8,000 miles through both icy cold and scorching heat. On his hikes, he endured temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees, and as high as 111 degrees.

Weis persevered through frostbite, injury, exhaustion and more on his trek through some of America’s most beautiful landscapes and rugged terrain. He detailed his experiences in a book entitled “This is Gonna Hurt.”
