Champion Pirates land two on All-NWC girls soccer 1st team

Mehaffie repeats as coach of the year; three players on 2nd team

The Northwest Conference champion Bluffton High School girls soccer team placed eight players on the all-league teams, led by two first teamers and three second-team picks, in voting conducted Sunday by the league coaches.

The Pirate girls repeated as NWC champs at 5-0-1, finishing just ahead of rivals Allen East (5-1) and Columbus Grove (4-1-1).

Bluffton seniors Jasmine Hasting and Ella Armstrong were named first team All-NWC by the coaches.

NWC championship to be decided in showdown finale at Grove

The Bluffton football team silenced local rival Allen East 42-0 in their Northwest Conference match Friday night at Goodwin Field in Harrod to stay undefeated and tied atop the league heading to the final week of the regular season.

The stingy Pirate defense came up with five sacks en route to their seventh consecutive shutout.  

Bluffton scored all of its points in the first half, highlighted by a 28-point second quarter.

Pirates run in NWC league meet; Essinger places 6th

SPENCERVILLE__The Bluffton High School cross country teams competed at the annual Northwest Conference championship meet in Spencerville on a wet and 53-degree Saturday, October 14.

GIRLS
Junior June Essinger finished a strong sixth in the 45-runner girls field to record the top Lady Pirate showing.

Ticket sales for BHS sports tournament play

Bluffton HIgh School Varsity Volleyball, Soccer, and Football teams will be starting their tournaments during the week of October 16. 

Tickets for all tournaments will be available online https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets, with adult price $8 and student price $5. Tickets will also be available at the gate for cash for $10.

Pirate volleyball sweeps Black Knights

The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept host Van Buren in a non-conference match Thursday evening, October 12, to end the regular season.

The Pirates improved to 18-4 overall with the decisive 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 win.

Pirate boys soccer wraps regular season, takes loss to Kalida

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team surged late from an early deficit but lost 4-3 to visiting Kalida Thursday night, October 12, at Steinmetz Field in a non-league match to end the regular season.

Bluffton dropped to 5-10-2 overall after the defeat.
