BHS Athletic Booster drive Aug. 7

Bluffton High School Athletic Boosters have two events planned prior to the start of the 2012-13 school year.
The annual booster drive is at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7. Senior athletes will have a group photo taken before the drive begins.
The fall sports photo day is Tuesday, Aug. 14.

This is a six-part series preview of the upcoming 2012 NFL season. Each part will be broken down by division for each conference, followed by a two-part series on playoff predictions.
Each team is broken down one-by-one under three categories: A team's coach and his staff, a team's quarterback and the weapons around him, and a team's defense. These are the three main ingredients to determining a team's success in the season.

Registration open for British Soccer Camp coming to BFR

The British are coming...to BFR!
BFR Sports & Fitness will host the Challenger British Soccer Camp again
this July. Challenger Camps are offered across the nation to youth soccer players of all levels. The BFR camp will be held July 30 to Aug. 30 with morning and/or evening sessions available.
Children ages 4-6 years will meet 10:30 a.m.-noon or 6-8 p.m., children ages 6-16 will attend the morning session from 9 a.m.-noon or 5-8 p.m.
Full day pricing is available, as well, and includes attendance at both the morning and evening sessions.

Mandatory meeting for Bluffton parents/athletes July 23

There will be a mandatory meeting for all Bluffton High School and middle school parents/athletes participating in a fall sport, according to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.

Bluffton Sardines score 1,025 points to finish 6th in WOAL meet

The Bluffton Sardines finished sixth in the eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) meet held July 13-14 at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.

BFR Labor Day Weekend 5K Run/Walk set for Sept. 1

BFR's annual benefit 5K race is Saturday, Sept. 1, according to Carole Enneking, direcor.

The race/walk begins at BFR and its course travels through the streets of
Bluffton and around the Buckeye Park. First-time 5K participants are
recognized with special ribbons at the end of the race.

A 1 Mile Fun Run is included. For those looking for a harder workout, the Pump and Run Challenge adds a bench press component prior to the run. Cost for the 5K is $15, and $10 for the Fun Run.
