Pirate girls soccer defeats Liberty Center

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton High School girls soccer team dominated visiting non-conference foe Liberty Center 7-1 Tuesday, October 8, at Steinmetz Field.  

The Pirate record improved to 10-4-1 after the convincing win. 

LC dropped to 7-7-1 after the lopsided loss.

Bluffton led 4-0 at halftime, and stretched the lead to 7-0 in the second half before giving up a goal with 13 minutes remaining to play.

JAMPD nature photography contest announced

Submission deadline is October 27

The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is holding it’s 47th annual Nature Photography Contest. Winners will be displayed at ArtSpace Lima and then at the McElroy Environmental Education Center.

Photographs will be submitted online. Deadline for submitted photos is no later than 11:59 p.m., Sunday Oct. 27, 2024. For official rules and details, click HERE.

Hancock County 4-H celebrates successful 2024

Hancock County 4-H’s 2024 year comes to a close, marked by a Celebration of 4-H on October 15.

The 2024 year saw 609 4-H youth participating in 1081 projects, as well as 101 Cloverbuds. Still projects, or non-livestock projects, were displayed during the Hancock County Fair in the Youth Pavilion. This year saw 774 livestock projects shown by 4-H youth at this year’s fair.
