For small colleges a mixed year for admissions

But, not for Bluffton University, according to story published in "Inside Higher Ed"

Bluffton University’s recent enrollment success was featured in “Inside Higher Edu,” a major international higher education publication.

The story titled “For small private colleges, a mixed year in admissions,” focused a major portion of the article on Bluffton.

Robin Bowlus,  vice president of advancement and enrollment management, attributed some of the college's success to its being open for the entire year that just completed. "Students and parents had expectations," she said.

Beavers' Archer 2020-21 HCAC male athlete of the year

Second male from Bluffton to receive this recognition

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognized Montez Archer Jr. (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) as the 2020-21 Male Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, following a vote of league officials.

Archer Jr. joins All-American Ryan Aelker (2016) as the second Bluffton male to be named the Heartland Conference Athlete of the Year. 

Terrill Webb was the top HCAC female athlete in 2016.

The newcomer from Bluffton University had an outstanding first year campaign on the gridiron for the Beavers.

State high school football title game moves to Canton

The Ohio High School Athletic Association and Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday announced a three-year agreement for the Hall to host the state football championships in Canton. The games, across Ohio’s seven divisions, will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium beginning in 2021.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Chief Administrative Officer Steve Strawbridge and OHSAA Executive Director Doug Ute outlined the partnership at a news conference in the Hall of Fame’s James Allen Family Gold Jacket Lounge.

So, you think you know Bluffton.

Well, everyone who said this is a window from the Bluffton post office is correct. It's on the north side of the building as it faces the parking lot between the post office and the Citizens National Bank.

Council committee looking a village nighttime lighting updates

Improved nighttime lighting, sidewalk extensions, crosswalk improvements, sign replacements and another look at village entry points.

These are among topics under review by the members of the Bluffton council streets, lights, alleys and sidewalk committee. Members are Joe Sehlhorst and Jerry Cupples.

Meeting for over 1 hours on May 27, Sehlhorst updated the entire council on discussion points of that meeting during council's Monday session.
