Former Bluffton resident James “Jim” Henry Green, 85, of Harlingen, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. He was born March 6, 1935, in Lima, to Henry and Louise Green.
Jim was raised on a farm in Bluffton. After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1953, he attended Ohio State University in Columbus from 1953 to 1955.
Prior to completing a degree, Jim entered the United States Air Force aviation cadet program in Harlingen, Texas, in 1956. He graduated from the program and received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant.

Bluffton Presbyterian Church will hold a drive-thru chicken/pork chop fundraiser from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, behind the church in the municipal parking lot.
Tickets are $8 each with options for: half-chicken, baked potato, applesauce, roll, or pork chop in place of chicken.
All proceeds go to Deacons Aid Fund for local missions.

Helen Edinger, 102, died Sept. 23, 2020, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Helen was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Hancock County, Ohio, to the late Ira and Emma (Tschiegg) Wilkins. On Nov. 16, 1941, she married Robert Edinger who preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1974.

BLUFFTON - The Ada and Bluffton golf squads played a makeup four-team Northwest Conference match Tuesday at the Bluffton Golf Course to finish the regular season.
Bluffton won with 166 strokes, followed by Lincolnview (178), Delphos Jefferson (185) and Ada (219).
Kenny Lovett of the Pirates was match medalist with a score of 36. Micah Minnig shot 40, and teammate Jaden Coonfare was close behind him with a 41. Jacob Boisvert rounded out the Bluffton scorers with a 49.

Bluffton revises football schedule By Cort Reynolds
BLUFFTON - The Bluffton athletic department released a revised schedule for the 2020 varsity football program this week.
A minimum of five more games are scheduled, including the post-season.
The Pirates (1-2) will host winless Northwest Conference rival Delphos Jefferson (0-4) Friday, September 25 for Homecoming.
On Friday, October 2, they will play at NWC foe Paulding (1-3).
