And now for something completely different: Weird Bluffton Scavenger Hunt.
Bluffton may be small, but we’re generous, collaborative, and hard-working. We’re also weird, and proud of it. And, we have Ron Headings to thank for creating a distraction that you might find worthwhile.
(We've even provided a hint at the bottom of this story)
Note: The volume of news concerning the COVIS-19 virus has upended our regular news coverage of Bluffton. We are attempting to get caught up with the regular day-to-day happenings in Bluffton. Here's a great story from Tommy Tire.
Tommy Tire, 319 N. Main St., Bluffton, opened a new front entrance and show room earlier this month, according to Tom Dotson.
In addition, the company has a new logo, attached to this story.
All due to a fluke vehicle breakdown on I-75 last summer
Posted by Fred Steiner on March 31, 2020 - 10:08pm
Thanks to a fluke vehicle breakdown on I-75 last summer, a rising star on the national country music scene will soon release an album featuring one song about Bluffton.
That rising star is Sal Walker and his band April Shortbread.
Late Sunday evening last July 21, Derek Dukes stopped to help a group traveling in a Tuscany Thor Motor Coach stalled on the southbound exit 140 ramp.
Assessing the situation, Dukes drove to the Beaverdam travel center. There he explained the breakdown problem to a mechanic who returned with Dukes and repaired the stranded vehicle.
Bluffton friends:
The bike paths are not wide enough for 2 couples to walk past each other 6 ft apart.
Three people walking side by side while pushing a baby carriage is not 6 ft of physical distancing.
Walkers, joggers, bikers in single file, with 6 ft of separation from the person in front and behind you would allow users of the bike paths to pass each other.
Some communities/cities have closed bike paths because physical distancing is not being maintained. Discuss among yourselves.
