Village brings park prospects to market

On Saturday, July 20, Village of Bluffton representatives Ben Stahl, Jesse Blackburn and Mitch Kingsley presented information on park developments including a soccer complex on Snider Rd. and dog park on Lake St. to passersby at the Bluffton Farmers Market.

Village of Bluffton issues $3.64M in permits for first half 2024

The Village of Bluffton recently reported to council the Zoning and Building permits issued for the first six months of 2024. A total of 34 projects were issued permits, with 6 in Hancock County and 28 in Allen County. The total esimated cost of construction associated with these permits is $3.64M.

Two new homes are among projects listed, cost estimates for these projects are $800K and $125K.

The largest commercial project is the GROB Systems expansion with a cost estimate of $1.32M. The next largest commercial project is the $700K True Word Tabernacle addition/parking lot project. Total estimated commercial and industrial projects is $2.47M.

TedFest 2024 is August 10

Pandora's 2024 TedFest will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10 from 2:00-11:50 p.m. at the Pandora Park-Aruthur-Lugibihl Community Center. 

This annual town festival includes Golf Cart Poker Run, kids games, Bingo, chicken
BBQ, free live bands, food vendors, beer garden and fireworks.

Music includes Noisy Neighbors, voted best of Toledo Ohio cover bands, sponsored by First National Bank and UIS Insurance and Investments.

TedFest is hosted by the Arthur-Lugibihl Community Center Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 to continue improvements for the gymnasium and community room used by the public for social and sporting events. The ALCC operates on a volunteer basis.

Listeria outbreak in 12 states

The Allen County Department of Health has shared the following message from the Centers for Disease Control:

LISTERIA OUTBREAK: 
28 people are sick, with 2 deaths, in 12 states. Do not eat meats you get sliced at any deli counter, unless it is reheated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot. Investigators are collecting as much information as possible to figure out which deli meats are contaminated. https://bit.ly/4cPl2dO/
