BPL offers use digital conversion device during July

A Wolverine SNaP-20MP Digital Converter will be at the Bluffton Public Library in July. The digital converter can digitize 35mm slides and negatives, as well as 3x5, 4x6, or 5x7 inch photographs into 20-MegaPixel JPEG digital images.

Boogie Wonderland: Dancing and the brain

Boogie Wonderland was released in April 1979 by Earth, Wind & Fire for Columbia Records.  The song won a Grammy for the Best R&B Instrumental Performance. Maurice White founded the group in 1969 and the name derives from his astrological sign of Sagittarius. The group was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as receiving Kennedy Center Honors in 2019. As with much of the Earth, Wind & Fire music, Boogie Wonderland really makes you want to jump up and dance.  

Research has already shown us the importance of physical activity and brain health, but does dancing in any form help our brain and mental health?

Sardines host 2024 WOAL CHAMPS, celebrate 50th anniversary

On Friday and Saturday, July 12-13, the Bluffton Sardines will host the 2024 Western Aquatic League Champs meet, which has been likened to a circus due to the huge number of tents. The Sardines are also celebrating 50 years of serving swimmers ages 5-18 with instruction, training and competition. PHOTO by Jamie Nygaard.
