Oone of Bluffton's holiday traditions is the Bluffton Baptist Church live nativity. Persons may view this year's nativity from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church, 345 County Line Road.

Don't go away - Bluffton has a great holiday weekend in store

Pool passes on sale at 2010 prices

The Village of Bluffton is offering 2011 swimming pool season passes at a a reduced rate (same rate as 2010) now through Dec. 31. The passes make great Christmas presents.

An attachment at the bottom of this page provides the complete form to purchase the passes.

Here are the 2010 rates good through Dec. 31:

Senior single $36 (55 years of age and older)
Senior couple $67.50
Family non-taxpayer $162
Family tax-payer $117
Single non-taxpayer $94.50
Single taxpayer $72

Who will kiss the pig?

Trinity Lutheran School has been doing a community service learning project. The students are collecting new books to be distributed to needy families in Hancock County.

An activity centered around the book "Charlotte's Web" is being conducted with the students in grades 1-4 with Mrs. Zerby and Mr. Dustin Frey, a grad-student from BGSU.

One kind act can start"extreme makeover" of heart

Dr. Jackie Frisch has seen her share of what she readily calls miracles in her nearly 19 years of married life.

She and her husband Aaron had three sons after being told that they couldn't conceive due to her major medical issues. After adopting nine more children under various, improbable circumstances, Jackie's health worsened five years ago, at age 39, and she was told both in 2006 and 2007 that she had a short time to live.

Kenneth W. Hartman 1923-2010

Kenneth W. Hartman, 87, died at 7 a.m., Dec. 2, 2010, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born Jan. 29, 1923, to Oscar and Mildred (Bixel) Hartman in Los Angeles, Calif. On Dec. 24, 1950, he married Rhodora Warkentin and she survives.

Mr. Hartman retired from the water department fro the City of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church,

Also surviving are a daughter, Peggy (Gary) Bennett, Perryburg, daughter, Carol (Bob) Roszman, Findlay, son, Tom (Cheryl) Hartman, Columbus, and a son, Fred (Lisa) Hartman, Rochester Hills, Mich.
