Community meals Sept. 2 and 16

Two community meals are planned for September by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association. The meals, open to the public, are Thursday, Sept. 2, and Thursday, Sept. 16.

Both meals are held at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and are hosted by different congregations in the community. The meals begin at 6 p.m. Donations are accepted and assist the Bluffton Community Assistance Program food pantry.

They are back - that mean's there's dancing in the street Sunday evening

They'll be dancing in the street again Sunday, Aug. 29, in Bluffton.

Main Street, that is, where from 7-9 p.m. new and returning Bluffton University students will dance, eat ice cream and generally continue a tradition on the eve of the first day of fall-semester classes.

The outdoor dance party/ice cream social will cap a weekend that began with new student move-in on Aug. 27.

BHS girls bombard Ada 11-1

This is the initial report of Bluffton High School girls soccer. Reports in story form will soon follow.

After a strong first showing at the Upper Sandusky Icebreaker Invitational meet last Tuesday, the Bluffton High School Cross Country teams didn't disappoint.

The Saturday meet began with the girls' race. It was a perfect day to run: 65 degrees and sunny. At 9:00, 117girls from the area crowded onto the Delphos football field and leaned over the line, waiting for the gun to sound.

Natalie Reynolds, Bluffton elementary student, takes a bite of a First National Bank anniversary cupcake on Friday. The cupcakes were available in the Bluffton lobby. This week First National Bank celebrates its 20th anniversary at its Bluffton location.

1895 Main Street bridge

You are looking at a photo by Will Triplett taken in Bluffton in 1895. The bridge crosses the Riley on Main Street, yet the note taken by Photographer Triplett read "Bridge on Indian Trail." This confirms the story that Main Street was in fact originally a trail of Native Americans.
