BCE affiliate member Mary Maas designs for aging in place

When Mary Maas was working toward her degree in interior design at Bowling Green State University, she was surprised to discover that no businesses in the region specialized in helping seniors make their homes safer and more comfortable.

With experience as a registered nurse, Maas knows exactly how needs and abilities change with age.

Elementary class lists posted at 5 p.m. today!

Who is your elementary teacher? Find out today. According to Tim Closson, elementary principal, the Bluffton elementary class lists will be posted on the elementary front doors by 5 p.m. today.

Because of security reasons, the school chose not to release the class lists to the media this year.

Andy Knippen appointed VP at Citizens National Bank

Citizens National Bank has named Andy Knippen as Vice President Network Administrator. Knippen will be responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure, hardware and software installs, network health and security and supervising PC support staff.

Knippen received an Associate in Applied Science and Information Technology Professions from James A. Rhodes State College and is certified as an A+, MCP and a MCSA.

Village charged in Ohio EPA findings

In a settlement with Ohio EPA, Bluffton has agreed to comply with wastewater permit requirements and will pay a $10,000 civil penalty for violations related to the repairs and operation of the village's sanitary sewer system.

According to a news release from the EPA:

Hop on Pop

It was "hop on pop" night for Greta Kauffman on Sunday. The Kauffman family attending the Mennonite Memorial Home Concert on the Lawn and Greta found that hopping on her dad, Rudi, was just as fun as listening to the music. Greta's mom, Ravonn, watches the fun. Not in the photo is the Kauffman's youngest daughter, Sophia.

Icon seeks fall sports writers

Do you like Bluffton High School sports? The Icon is expanding its coverage of the community this fall by including game accounts of BHS sports.

The Icon has non-paid openings for writers in all varsity, junior varsity and junior high sports. These openings are available to parents, students or sports fans.

We'll provide you with a press pass to get into home and away games. We'll also provide some writing tips.

The Icon also welcomes action photos of any Bluffton school sports. We'll also provide you with a press pass.
