Carol Jean Musser co-owned J.F. Musser Co.

Carol Jean Musser, 80, passed away May 16, 2023 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  Carol was born March 21, 1943 in Glandorf to the late Oscar and Adaline (Knippen) Kleman. On May 9, 1964, she married Jerry Musser and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2016.

Celebration of life for Joanne Antibus on May 27

A celebration of life for Joanne Antibus will be held on from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 at the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club, 405 S. Spring St.

Antibus taught science and environmental biology at Bluffton High School and served on the Blluffton Tree Commission. Her obituary is HERE.

Bluffton orchestras are Superior at OMEA adjudication

The Bluffton 6th grade orchestra and junior high orchestra received superior ratings at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event on Friday, May 12 held at Parkway High School.

Will Brown honored by Black Swamp Area Council

The 2023 Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon for the Black Swamp Area Council was held on April 22 at Rhodes State College in Lima. 

This year the Black Swamp Area Council presented three Silver Beavers Awards. This year’s recipients were Will Brown of Bluffton, Tim Wade of Defiance and Tom Masterson of Tiffin.

The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not seek it.
