March 2023 BSH Student of the Month

The March Student of the Month at Bluffton High School is Liam Jordan, son of Matthew and Amy Jordan of Bluffton.  Liam is currently a Junior and has a 4.000 GPA.

The Final Countdown was a song released by the group Europe on February 14, 1986. The song performed by the Swedish rock band reached number 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is often played at sporting events to rally the crowds.

Public Hearing for alley vacation off Cherry St near Vance

The Village of Bluffton has issued the notice for a public hearing for an alley vacation at 5:30 p.m. on May 10, 2023 at 5:30 pm in the Community Room on the 3rd floor of Town Hall, 156 N. Main St.

The Village of Bluffton has received a petition from Matthew and Hannah Alspach, property owners at 150 Cherry St., to vacate a public alley that borders their property.

A public hearing will be held before the Streets, Alleys, Lights & Sidewalks Committee of Village Council on the date listed above.

Bluffton history group votes on names, holds meeting April 12

Scott Little, Secretary of the new Bluffton history group has issued the following invitation:

Greetings, friends of Bluffton history.

Please plan to join us this Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. for the April monthly meeting of our soon to be named history group. Until further notice, mark it on your calendar, we’ll continue to meet on the third floor of Bluffton City Hall on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

Share the road with motorcycles

A reminder from the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission.

The weather in northwest Ohio has finally warmed and motorcycles are out. It's time for a reminder to share the road and take some extra precautions.

Motorcycle riders are reminded to obey traffic laws, wear DOT-compliant helmets, and other protective gear; also, be visible by wearing bright colors or using reflective tape.

Drivers of cars, trucks, and buses are reminded to look out for and share the road with motorcyclists. Increasing cooperation among all road users will help to reduce crashes.

Pirate baseball blanks Wildcats

The visiting Bluffton High School baseball team shut out Delphos Jefferson 3-0 to win their Northwest Conference opener Monday evening, April 10.

Bluffton improved to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the win. The Wildcats fell to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in league play after the defeat.

The Pirates host McComb (3-4) Tuesday and visit Ottoville (0-5) Wednesday.
